time gap

Nikon D80 | 1/125 seconds | f 4.8 | ISO 100 | 44 mm
----------------------------------------------------------------------

it could have been just the same the mid-1960's, but it was last autumn in Lucca, Italy. they were a quiet frame on the usual uproar on the two meters puzzled streets. of course, if we would have been indeed in those years, they wouldn't smoke filtered cigarettes, their shoes would have been plain sneakers, not c*nverse, and the houses behind them would have been younger and cheaper.. but still, don't be fooled by the apperences, think at the progress and knowledge nowadays and there you'll feel the difference..

"Each generation goes further than the generation preceding it because it stands on the shoulders of that generation. You will have opportunities beyond anything we've ever known." Ronald Reagan [the 40th President of the United States. 1911 – 2004]

strange how Ronald Reagan's words sound like my grandfather's..

I read your comment. I think I have understood the essence of the message. In any case it fits perfectly with this picture of young women who seemed to be immersed in their thoughts ...
Your grandfather was right: we have probably more chance of success than our ancestor. The question is whether are able to use them wisely ...
I like your shot, really.

Such pertinent observation Romina. And the image has indeed the perfume of those years. Bravo!

Very cool use of those tones.

Nice photography. The tone matches the scene perfectly. And you know hot it is with fashion. Everything comes back some day!

Utterly beautifull street scene ... excellent work!

A very different generation. They look like they're from the 60's and the sepia tones really pull that out.

Indeed ! Very Sixties-like ! Love your yellowed sepia tone a lot, and their position, and their dreams behind the sun-glasses. Could be a shot in a Mode magazine ! See U*, dear ~

Thank you all for dropping by :)

@K: their position captured my eye too. they have no stress :).
as for mode magazine.. well, you make me laugh. you are kind, but I'm much below their standards I guess, and to be totally sincere I don't even dream that my photos were in such magazine :)
see you around. kisses

Very cool shot of a couple of cool chicks:-)

Yes it could well have been mid sixties, especially the girl on the right. I can just see them hopping onto a Lambretta and cruising down the road. Funny, I think that those times offered far more opportunity than today. It's a cool shot anyhoo :)

great street shot and processing

A fine street shot with toning that supports the image very well. The way "youth" changes over time is an interesting subject. I was talking with a 7th grader this morning and found his ideas of socializing via twitter, facebook and text messaging fascinating.

Cool street shot. I like the processing of that capture.
